Led Zeppelin’s second album is the band’s hardest and heaviest. From the opening wallop of “Whole Lotta Love” to the last notes of “Bring It On Home” … from Jimmy Page’s sledgehammer riffs to Robert Plant hitting high notes that only a dog could hear, the band is peerless. John Bonham gets his moment too, beating the absolute crap out of his kit on “Moby Dick.” Remastered by Jimmy Page, Led Zeppelin II has never sounded so good.

Written in snatches between shows on the band’s relentless 1969 tour, Led Zeppelin II was the band’s first album to hit #1 in the U.S., knocking The Beatles’ White Album out of the top spot.
